With total revenues of almost £2bn and a portfolio of household names (including Daily Mail, Mail Online and Metro), DMGT is an international business which produces high value information for businesses and consumers.

The Project

As part of its commitment to good governance, DMGT wanted to reinforce its established procedures by building a network of key employees from across the Group to act as ‘governance champions’. It planned to support its champions with regular information and resources to help all employees develop a better understanding of DMGT’s approach.

What we Did

First we created a logo to ensure all governance-related communications could be easily identifiable, which incorporated all sub-business colours equally. After this, we created a theme to support the logo and established a governance brand.

A map design was developed from key governance terms in various font sizes to illustrate the importance of governance across the business globally and to stress that it is the responsibility of all employees to embrace equally.

The Outcome

The communications provide consistent resource and guidance to the senior executives across the Group, allowing them to use this in a way they feel best works for their business. This is in line with the autonomous approach the Group strategy promotes.

Engagement rose to 87% and feedback from across the Group has been extremely positive.
